Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

The sports star had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

This update on his health comes as the sports world shared condolences for the star in the following the devastating accident.
